Tooth-Saving Dentistry

At Magnolia Family Dental Care, we are proud to offer biomimetic dentistry—often called “tooth-saving dentistry,” because it focuses on the preservation and accurate replication your natural tooth structure. Dr. Rodriguez has over 10 years of experience providing biomimetic dental treatments that support whole-body wellness and healthy, long-lasting results.

What is

Biominetic Dentistry?

Biomimetic dentistry is a modern dental approach designed to mimic the natural structure, strength and function of healthy teeth. The word biomimetic literally means “to imitate nature.”

Instead of relying on traditional methods that may remove excess tooth structure, biomimetic dentistry aims to preserve as much of your natural tooth as possible while restoring it to full function and aesthetics.

Key aspects of biomimetic dentistry include the following:

Tooth preservation: Conserving healthy enamel and tooth structure by minimizing drilling and the cutting down of teeth

Natural strength and flexibility: Using state-of-the-art materials that behave like real tooth tissue

Strong bonding: Sealing and reinforcing teeth to reduce cracks, sensitivity and future damage

Long-term health: Designing restorations that support durability and reduce the need for repeated repairs

How Dr. Rodriguez

Saves Your Teeth

Dr. Rodriguez brings a biomimetic mindset to all of her treatment plans. She will always pursue methods designed to preserve the overall health and integrity of your teeth. This approach can substantially prolong the tooth’s life and avoid further repairs and eventual tooth loss.

In traditional dentistry, because of the over-drilling and cutting down that usually occurs, a tooth often goes through a cycle of progressive failure:

The tooth receives a filling

Due to loss of structure and incomplete seals allowing bacteria to enter in, the tooth decays further and a crown is required.

There is further cutting down of tooth structure that further weakens the tooth, eventually requiring a root canal.

In its weakened state, the tooth can completely fail and need to be extracted and an implant placed.

Biomimetic dentistry avoids this cycle of tooth failure by preserving structure and tooth integrity, often avoiding any necessity for crowns or root canals.
